Dear Guests,

We consider our facility & the way we conduct programs to be low risk  outdoors or in a space with good ventilation and ample space. In efforts to keep everyone comfortable we are not only heeding recommendations from the USDA, as horses are regulated by the Dept. of Agriculture, but taking more steps following Gov. Mills mandates, receiving guidance from Maine CDC Director Dr. Shah and proceeding with caution.

BlixxHorses is non-essential. According to the 'Stay At Home' order effective through May 31, exercise can be provided as an activity on a limited basis. We continue to offer visits and programs by appointment only & ask for 24 notice. Please check facebook or our website for regular updates. Until further notice please let us know if you or anyone you live with:

  • is not feeling well or has symptoms

  • used public transportation

  • recently travelled into Maine

  • has been in large gatherings or congregate settings where there could be higher exposure.

To be safe, we treat everyone including ourselves as potential carriers without symptoms.

We will offer additional programs to learn and enjoy the horses β€œat a distance.” At this time we can only accommodate individuals and families of 4 or less who live together. We are asking to postpone visits with young children who may not be able to practice infection control.

Hygiene protocols: updated as needed - Instead of sanitizer, please wash hands upon entering the facility and upon departure.  If you are volunteering on the property, clean outdoor gloves can be worn & removed prior to leaving. If horses are touched apply sanitizer prior to and after handling . Infection control is more effective by not sharing objects.

Please refrain from touching surfaces, your face. Bring a mask or scarf with you when you are in the barn and use it if  in close proximity to others. Hay & dust is a part of life with horses so having one available helps should you not  be able to take your cough or sneeze outdoors.

We continue to social distance at 6 -10 ft. We have social distancing aids available to use as a reminder. If you have any questions, please call us at 207-985-1994, or email us at blixx@myfairpoint.net. Thank you!
